Alvin Clement Russell

1944-2023

Alvin Clement Russell

Alvin Clement Russell, age 79, of New Ross, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Ralph and Marie (Leete) Russell. Dad was hard working, strong willed and lived life to the fullest. He remained strong and fought this tough battle to the very end. He had a soft spot for animals and adored his two cats, squirrels and chickadees. He is survived by the love of his life, Dora, and they were together for their 61st wedding anniversary on Friday, September 1st. He is also survived by his daughter, Ramona (Glen) Mahoney, Centreville, NS; sons, Robert (Mary Jane) Russell, New Ross, NS and Darryl Russell, Vancouver, BC; three grandchildren, Everett, Amanda and Dallas; two great grandchildren, Landon and Sunni; sister, Hazel Mitton, Amherst, NS. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his five brothers, two sisters, and his beloved son, Gordon Russell, who left this world at the age of 7 to live among the angels. Words cannot express the deep sorrow we are all feeling right now, but we get comfort in knowing that he is at peace and is standing by Gordie’s side shining down on all of us. You are not in our lives but will forever be in our hearts. Love you. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023 in the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, New Ross. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA - Kings Shelter. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
