With broken hearts, the family of Candace Nicole Brownell, age 35 of New Minas, announce her untimely passing on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at home, after a long and brutal battle with Crohn’s disease. Born in Windsor, she was the daughter of Darlene (David) Kelly, of New Minas and the late Malcolm Brownell.

Candace was a graduate of Horton High School. She worked at Harvey’s, Swiss Chalet, A&W and the North End Market as a waitress and hostess. Her daughter Kyra, who she loved more than life itself was her inspiration and motivation every day. Candace was the strongest, most courageous person we knew. She dealt with every obstacle she faced without any complaints. Her love for her family and friends was tremendous and evident in the many heartfelt conversations she had.

Left to mourn are her mother, Darlene (David) Kelly; daughter, Kyra Reeves, at home; and sister, Alicia (Kevin) Rand, Canning. She will be beyond missed by her bestie, Kyla Hiltz. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Joan McDougall and Myrtle Kelly; other siblings, Ang, Jen, Missy, Kim and Christopher; nieces, nephews and extended family.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Candace’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in memory may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
